Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Welcome to FoodPea.com. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website. By accessing or using FoodPea.com, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
1. What FoodPea.com is
FoodPea.com is an independent Canadian culinary resource publishing recipes, meal-prep guides, grocery-price research, and cooking strategies focused on winter budget meal prep in Canada. All content is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
2. Recipes and cooking — use at your own risk
Cooking involves heat, sharp objects, and perishable food, so let’s be straightforward:
- Follow food safety basics. Cook proteins to safe internal temperatures (use a thermometer — 74°C/165°F for poultry, for example), refrigerate leftovers within two hours, and don’t eat anything that smells off, no matter what a recipe says.
- Your kitchen, your responsibility. Ovens, slow cookers, and Instant Pots vary. If your slow cooker runs hot, adjust. If something looks undercooked, cook it longer. Use your judgment.
- Allergies and dietary needs. Always check ingredient labels yourself. We do our best to flag common allergens, but formulations change and we can’t guarantee every recipe note catches everything. If you have a serious allergy, verify every ingredient before you cook.
- Substitutions. When we suggest swaps (store brands, frozen for fresh, PC Blue Menu products), they’re based on our testing — but results can vary by brand and batch.
3. Not professional advice
Our content is educational, not professional advice:
- Nutrition: calorie counts, protein figures, and macro estimates are approximate values for meal-planning purposes. We are not registered dietitians. For medical conditions, weight management, or serious dietary changes, talk to a registered dietitian or your doctor.
- Financial: grocery budgets, price comparisons, and savings strategies are general information, not financial advice.
- Medical: nothing on this site is medical advice. FoodPea.com doesn’t diagnose, treat, or make claims about curing anything — we just write about dinner.
4. Prices and availability
All prices are in Canadian dollars ($ CAD) and reflect our research at the time of publication — flyer prices, shelf prices, and sale prices we’ve observed at Canadian retailers including No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart Canada, Metro, and Sobeys. Prices change constantly: sales end, regions differ, and inflation happens. Always check your local store before planning around a figure you’ve seen here. We update popular guides when we notice meaningful shifts, but we can’t guarantee every price on the site is current.
5. Intellectual property
Everything on FoodPea.com — recipes, articles, guides, and images — is our original work and is protected by copyright. You’re welcome to:
- Cook our recipes at home, as often as you like.
- Share a link to our pages on social media or with friends.
- Quote a short excerpt with credit and a link back to the original page.
Please don’t republish our full articles, scrape the site, or use our images elsewhere without written permission. Our images are AI-generated originals made for this site — they’re ours, not stock photos, and not free to take. Contact hello@foodpea.com for permission requests.
6. Acceptable use
When using the site or contacting us, you agree not to:
- Post or send spam, abusive, or unlawful content.
- Attempt to hack, scrape aggressively, or disrupt the site.
- Misrepresent our content as your own or as professional advice.
- Use the site for any commercial purpose without our permission (beyond normal personal cooking use).
7. Third-party links and references
We mention real Canadian retailers (No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart Canada, Metro, Sobeys, Costco, Giant Tiger, Bulk Barn) because that’s where Canadians shop — these mentions are editorial, not endorsements, and those companies don’t endorse us either. If we link to external sites, we’re not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
8. Advertising
FoodPea.com displays ads through Google AdSense. Ads are clearly distinguishable from our editorial content, and advertisers don’t influence what we write. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies work.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep recipes accurate and prices current, but we can’t guarantee everything is error-free or up to date. Your use of the site is at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FoodPea.com and its team are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content — including, for clarity, anything that happens in your kitchen. Cook carefully.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date, and continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which our operations are based, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
